Atlas Shrugged Part 2 to Hit Theaters Weeks Before Election

Atlas Shrugged Part 2 announces Official Theatrical Release Date

(Beverly Hills, CA) - June 25, 2012 - Atlas Distribution Company today announced that Pandemic Marketing’s Russell Schwartz will head marketing and Bill Lewis will spearhead USA theatrical distribution for Atlas Shrugged Part II – Either-Or. The second installment of the highly anticipated film adaptation of Ayn Rand’s classic novel is scheduled for nationwide release on October 12, 2012.

“Russell and Bill bring incredible experience and success with well-known book adaptations, and we’re excited to have them bring their expertise to the Atlas Shrugged marketing and distribution team,” said John Aglialoro, chairman of Atlas and producer of the Atlas Shrugged films.

“The themes of Atlas Shrugged are as relevant today as they were when Ayn Rand had her book published in 1957,” said Harmon Kaslow, CEO of Atlas and Aglialoro’s producing partner. “We wouldn’t be here without the support of the millions inspired and influenced by the book - from those that picked up Atlas in their college days to the incredible Tea Party support we’ve received, the message of Atlas continues to resonate. We have every intention of making Atlas Shrugged part of the discussion this election season.”

Schwartz is currently the president of Pandemic Marketing, a firm with experience developing marketing solutions for a wide range of film industry clients, including MGM, National Geographic, 2929 Productions, Miramax and others. Schwartz was previously president of domestic marketing for New Line Cinema, where he created and managed theatrical marketing campaigns for more than 60 films, including The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Hairspray, Austin Powers, Elf, Wedding Crashers and more. Schwartz has served as president of USA Films and Gramercy Pictures and executive vice president of Miramax Films.

Lewis most recently held the position of Executive Vice President / General Sales Manager of domestic distribution for Summit Entertainment, where his responsibilities included overseeing the U.S. theatrical release of "The Twilight Saga" franchise, 2010 Academy Award winner "The Hurt Locker", "Red" and "Knowing". Prior to Summit, Lewis was Senior Vice President, Eastern Sales Manager at MGM Distribution.

Atlas Shrugged Part II – Either-Or leads off with the global economy on the brink of collapse. Unemployment is 24%. Gas is $42 per gallon. Meanwhile, brilliant creators, from artists to industrialists, continue to mysteriously disappear at the hands of the unknown. And the winner is...

Remember that contest we had a couple of weeks ago to be an extra in Atlas Shrugged Part 2? And, the winner was...

Saranac Harris, from Carlsbad, CA, facebooked her way onto the ASP II set this past Tuesday to join us in wrapping the movie.
Saranac Harris and husband Kevin.
Saranac and her husband Kevin were "extras" at Jim Taggart and Cheryl Brooks' wedding reception during Frisco's money speech. We had a great time with Saranac and Kevin and look forward to seeing them again.
Saranac, husband Kevin, and producer Jeff Freilich.

Thank you to everyone who participated. Anyone interested in earning their way to the ASP II premiere? Hmmm.

Be an Extra in Atlas Shrugged Part 2

Atlas Shrugged Part 2 is looking for an extra. What’s an “extra?”

From Wikipedia:

A background actor or extra is a performer in a film, television show, stage, musical, opera or ballet production, who appears in a nonspeaking, nonsinging or nondancing capacity, usually in the background (for example, in an audience or busy street scene).

Yes. Really. Although there may be some dancing.

So, what do you need to do to get on set? You need to get busy...

1. Follow us on Twitter and retweet any of our tweets.

By the way, while you’ll definitely be an “extra” on set, we can’t really guarantee you screen time. But... we can certainly guarantee you a good time. We’ll make sure you get some cool swag too.
