Atlas Shrugged Part III Goes Into Production

Los Angeles, California - January 23, 2014 - Atlas Distribution Company announced today that “Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt?” went into production on Monday, January 20th. The movie’s release is slated for September 2014.

The movie trilogy follows the three-part structure of Ayn Rand’s 1957 novel, “Atlas Shrugged.” The dystopian story takes place in a not-so-distant future with the nation’s economy approaching collapse. While overreaching government regulations persist in strangling the country’s few remaining entrepreneurs, society’s most productive have mysteriously disappeared.

At the helm of Part 3 will be seasoned award-winning Director Jim Manera who will be accompanied by Cinematographer, Gale Tattersal who previously worked as Director of Photography on Hugh Laurie's House M.D. as well as Tom Hank’s From Earth to the Moon.

“It’s very fulfilling for all us to be finishing the trilogy. Atlas Shrugged has impacted so many lives and we’re extremely proud to be bringing the final installment to the screen. The team we’ve assembled is nothing short of stellar. Part 3 is without question going to be the best of the trilogy.” said Producer John Aglialoro.

Atlas Distribution Company also announced today that the much anticipated role of John Galt will go to Kristoffer Polaha, an accomplished actor who, prior to working on Atlas, was profoundly influenced by Ayn Rand’s “The Fountainhead.” Kris has been in a variety of television shows including Ringer (CW), alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Life Unexpected (CW). He will next be seen in a regular role alongside Rainn Wilson in Fox's new show, Backstrom. His feature credits include a supporting role in Devil's Knot, opposite Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth.

The role of Dagny Taggart, heroine COO of Taggart Transcontinental, will be played by Laura Regan who has appeared in the AMC hit Mad Men as well as the movie Unbreakable with Bruce Willis.

Producer Harmon Kaslow said, “We’ve always known that finding the right actor to play John Galt was going to be a huge challenge, but as soon as Kris walked in the room and said ‘Hello’, we knew we found him. Kris is John Galt. We couldn’t be more pleased. Laura and Kris already have great chemistry together. Atlas fans everywhere are going to be blown away.”

Rounding out the cast of “Atlas Shrugged” heroes are acclaimed actors Joaquim de Almedia as Francisco d’Anconia, Eric Allen Kramer as Ragnar Danneskjöld, and Rob Morrow as Hank Rearden, as well as a host of other veteran actors.

The prior two “Atlas Shrugged” movies are currently available on DVD & Blu-ray, iTunes, or streaming on Netflix and Amazon.

Ayn Rand Fans To Participate in Making of Atlas Shrugged Movie

(Los Angeles, California) - September 23, 2013 - Atlas Distribution Company, LLC announced today that it will be launching an online crowdfunding effort through Kickstarter.com to support the final installment of the Atlas Shrugged movie trilogy: “Who is John Galt?

“One of the things that’s made Atlas Shrugged withstand the test of time and continue to sell hundreds of thousands of books is just how relevant people find the message of the book to what they’re experiencing today,”  said Producer Harmon Kaslow.

“For years, Atlas Shrugged fans from all walks of life have personally written to me wanting to be involved in supporting the production of the films. Kickstarter provides a clear pathway for fans to now be part of Atlas history,” stated Producer John Aglialoro.

The thirty day Atlas Shrugged Kickstarter campaign offers a wide range of rewards including the opportunity to be an extra in the movie.

“Kickstarter gives us a great opportunity to reach out to a whole new audience as well as afford fans of the book a chance to join us and participate in the making of Atlas Shrugged.” continued Kaslow.

Atlas Shrugged: “Who is John Galt?” is currently in pre-production with filming scheduled for Fall 2013 followed by a USA theatrical release in 2014.

Associate Producer, Scott DeSapio concluded, “Our primary goal is to spread the message of Atlas to as wide an audience as possible. Funds raised through Kickstarter will be going directly towards production and distribution.”

Atlas Shrugged Part 3 Heads Into Production

Atlas Shrugged Part 3 to Begin Principal Photography Fall 2013

Los Angeles, CA - March 26, 2013 - Today, Atlas Productions, LLC officially announced that “Atlas Shrugged Part 3”, the third and final installment of the Atlas Shrugged movie trilogy, has been officially greenlit with principal photography to begin later this year.

The movie trilogy follows the three-part structure of Ayn Rand’s epic 1957 novel, ATLAS SHRUGGED. Atlas Shrugged Part 3 takes place in a near future dystopian United States with the nation's economy quickly approaching collapse. While overreaching government regulations persist in strangling the country's few remaining entrepreneurs, society’s most productive continue to mysteriously disappear. One man has the answer. Some will stop at nothing to control him. Others will stop at nothing to save him. Who is John Galt?

The producers have tapped four time Emmy® award-winner, Duncan Scott as the film’s screenwriter along with Brian O’Toole. Long before working on Atlas Shrugged Part 2, Scott worked extensively with Ayn Rand on the restoration and editing of the classic motion picture “We the Living”, based on Rand’s novel of the same title.

“We’re thrilled to have Duncan and Brian back. Having sat shoulder-to-shoulder with Rand, no one else could do what Duncan can when it comes to adapting Atlas. His unmatched experience and his incredible depth of knowledge regarding Atlas are absolutely invaluable,” stated Producer John Aglialoro.

Aglialoro’s company produced and distributed Parts 1 and 2, and has set a USA theatrical release for Part 3 in the Summer of 2014. Parts 1 and 2 are now available on DVD, BluRay and are available for internet download.

Producer Harmon Kaslow said, “Our number one goal with Part 3 is to pull the prescient message of Atlas off of the page and project it clearly onto the screen. Ayn Rand drew incredibly sharp archetypes with stark backdrops. Our goal with Part 3 is to bring these characters to life as accurately as possible and celebrate Rand’s message.”

ATLAS SHRUGGED Inadvertently Releases Collector’s Item

Error on Atlas Shrugged DVD and Blu-Ray slips through cracks, ends up on retail shelves.

(Santa Monica), November 11, 2011 - Atlas Productions LLC announced today its plan to replace more than 100,000 title sheets appearing on the Atlas Shrugged Part 1 DVD and Blu-ray versions sold through major retail outlets. These retail versions were packaged with an inaccurate synopsis of Atlas Shrugged. Not affected were the “Special Edition” versions sold online at AtlasShruggedMovie.com.

The 1957 novel, Atlas Shrugged, is known in philosophical and political circles for presenting a cogent argument advocating a society driven by rational self-interest. On the back of the film's retail DVD and Blu-ray however, the movie’s synopsis contradictorily states “AYN RAND’s timeless novel of courage and self-sacrifice comes to life...

“It’s embarrassing for sure and of course, regardless of how or why it happened, we’re all feeling responsible right now.” says Scott DeSapio, Atlas Productions’ COO and Communications Director “You can imagine how mortified we all were when we saw the DVD but, it was simply too late - the product was already on shelves all over the Country. It was certainly no surprise when the incredulous emails ensued. The irony is inescapable.”

DeSapio continued “Ultimately, the responsibility falls on us, Atlas Productions. We are putting policies in place now to ensure we avoid these types of unforced errors in the future.”

Harmon Kaslow, CEO of Atlas Productions and Producer of the film stated “As we all well know, the ideas brought to life in Atlas Shrugged are entirely antithetical to the idea of ‘self-sacrifice’ as a virtue. Atlas is quite literally a story about the dangers of self-sacrifice. The error was an unfortunate one and fans of Ayn Rand and Atlas have every right to be upset... and we have every intention of making it right.”

John Aglialoro, Chairman and owner of Atlas Productions stated, “We needed to quickly correct this mistake and I’m pleased we did.”

Kaslow added, “To those that purchased the flawed cover, congratulations are in order. You’ve inadvertently got yourself a real collector’s item there."

Atlas Productions has setup a web page for consumers of the DVD to request a replacement title sheet free of charge: http://www.AtlasShruggedMovie.com/title-sheet. The new title sheet will more accurately read “AYN RAND’s timeless novel of rational self-interest comes to life...

Rand’s 1,100 page bestselling book is being produced by Atlas Productions as a trilogy which follows the three part structure of the novel. Part 1 was released theatrically in USA on April 15, 2011. Part 2 is expected to follow in 2012.

Members of Congress gather in Sam Rayburn Building for Private Screening

Culver City, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) March 02, 2011 - Today on Capitol Hill, at 9:00 am (EST) sharp, “The Strike” Productions’ Harmon Kaslow hosted a private screening of the upcoming political drama ATLAS SHRUGGED PART I open exclusively to members of Congress and their staff.

“Even though Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged is more than 50 years old, the film is hauntingly relevant to what’s happening today.” says producer Harmon Kaslow.

“I can’t think of a more perfect venue than the Rayburn Building where its main entrance is guarded by two ten foot marble statutes symbolizing Spirit of Justice and Majesty of Law.” Continued Kaslow, “Given the current political climate, screening the movie right in the middle of where the U.S. House of Representatives operates brings the movie directly to the audience that needs to see it most - the U.S. Congress.”

The Strike is hosting a number of invitation only screenings of Atlas Shrugged prior to its theatrical release on April 15, 2011 in eleven US cities including a screening in D.C. later today and New York City on March 3, 2011.

ATLAS SHRUGGED PART I, a movie adapted from Part I of Ayn Rand’s epic novel "Atlas Shrugged", is scheduled to open in limited release in the USA on April 15, 2011. For more information, visit http://www.AtlasShruggedPart1.com.
